What is the Difference Between Equine Assisted Neurodivergent Therapy (EANT) and Equine Assisted Therapy (EAT)?

Equine Assisted Neurodivergent Therapy (EANT) is a specialized therapy modality that incorporates horses to cater to the unique needs of neurodivergent individuals. It focuses on enhancing the coping mechanisms, social interactions, and sensory processing experiences specific to these individuals, as well as enhancing their overall lives through equine-assisted activities.

Equine Assisted Therapy (EAT) is a mental health treatment that focuses on helping mental health clients overcome and heal their emotional health, mental health, social health, and behavioural issues. Equine Assisted Therapy can ONLY be performed by a licensed mental health professional and not an Equine Assisted Neurodivergent Therapist or an Equine Assisted Learning Facilitator.

Horse Therapy Centre of Canada leads an extensive Equine Assisted Neurodivergent Therapist training that will teach you how to confidently incorporate Equine Assisted N eurodivergent Therapy into your work with clients. You will leave with the confidence to work in the field and even start your own program. Plus, having a certification in the field shows your future clients that you are professional, trained and that they can trust you.
